Ecommerce and Product Photography

This is an area that pulls me in as well as a photographer because it’s in where you can make an income by booking projects and gigs. Product photography can get your name out there and by doing it consistently the door only opens wider. I did a little research to back my advice up from a person that has been in the field. For those going into product photography and using it in Ecommerce then this would be a good read. How Great Product Photographs Influence Ecommerce Websites Conversions  by François-pierre Bruiet on Meero.com writes about the positive effect of great product photography.

“90% of online buyers say that photo quality is the most important factor in an online sale” To be exact Bruiet said 93% of consumers consider visual content the factor in deciding a purchase. 93%. That is a huge impact in a business and by putting in the practice getting small projects to increase knowledge in the field of product photography can make you an asset to the industry . Bruiet continues, “According to a study conducted by Big Commerce, 78% of online shoppers want photographs to bring products to life - they want to see the product as if it’s part of their own daily lives. Product photography has the power to narrate a story: what the brand is about, what it means to consumers, and why the visitor should care about it”  Photography isn’t just about what effects wow the consumers, being creative in how you make the consumer feel that they should have that product in their hands is the key component. This is just two of many different elements that can make product photography a nice way to make some money.
